In 1996, Pastor John Williams and his wife Pamela Williams, led a group of supporters who were passionate about helping the homeless. This group decided to take a stand by getting down into the trenches of Chicago's infamous Lower Wacker Drive, which serves as refuge for many of the area's homeless. Both individuals and families were given hot food, sleeping bags, hats, gloves, scarfs and anything available that would provide more comfort in dealing with their situations. They were not just fed, but embraced and given hope.
In 2009, inspired by our Lower Wacker Drive experiences and others, Unique Value Community Center (UVCC) was officially recognized as 501(c)(3) community service organization.
"...we are the village that is going to help shape the lives
not only of children, but adults as well."
Unique Value Community Center's mission is to create and provide opportunities for individuals and families who are in a state of hopelessness, but are pro-active towards improving their own lives.
Located on Chicago's south side, our goal is to provide our immediate and surrounding communities with comprehensive outreach programs that touch the lives and hearts of those in need. For individuals and families participating and engaging in UVCC programs, improving quality of life is a core principle of the programs and services offered.
